To sum it up, Coachella was exactly like this s’more: hot, sticky, and oh so good!
Work Work Work
As you my have gathered from my instastories, my primary purpose for being at Coachella was to work for Mallow Mallow, a gourmet s’more company owned by family friends! Their s’mores are DELICIOUS. I’m normally not a huge marshmallow fan, but Mallow Mallow marshmallows are homemade and have the best, most unique flavors! Our store was positioned right in front of the Sahara tent (if you’re coming to Coachella this coming weekend check us out!) so we had a great view of some of the biggest acts like Mac Miller, Gucci Mane, Tory Lanez, and DJ Khaled – the crowd literally lost their minds when Khaled came out!
I’m going to be upfront and confess that I wasn’t extremely excited about any of the musical acts beforehand (if you read my What to Wear to a Music Festival: Coachella Edition post you know that my general enthusiasm about the Coachella lineup ended after I found out Beyonce was no longer headlining), but I’m now a new fan of Lorde! I hadn’t heard much of her music besides “Royals”, but I loved everything I heard on Sunday and have been listening to her pretty much non stop! Her new song “Liability” is my fave, you should all check it out if you haven’t already!
Pop Sugar Party: I live for a good pool soiree and the Pop Sugar Cabana Party at the Colony Palms Hotel did not disappoint! The event was about 35 minutes away from the Coachella fairgrounds (the uber surging was no joke!) but it was so worth it. Lots of gram-able opportunities like this one! We felt so silly making the video but I think it came out really cool, aside from me hitting Camilla in the face with my twists!
There was also this epic swing made of real flowers that I couldn’t resist!
The Ulta Beauty Gifting Suite was probably the highlight of the event for me. I picked out some fun new make up that I can’t wait to try and everyone received a personalized embroidered make up bag. You might notice my name looks a little weird . . . I asked the embroiderer to write “Kris + Joy” but he thought I meant “Krist Joy.” Either way, it’s still cute and I will use it proudly 🙂
Sephora Tent: This tent is a genius idea. First, it’s air conditioned which was a welcome break from the sweltering desert heat. You can also test all colors of lipsticks, highlighters, and eye shadow, and add some fun jewels to your face! You can see some of the jewels my friends and I chose in the photos below.
There were hair stylists available to braid hair and, if you really wanted to rejuvenate, you could lay down and apply a face mask! People were literally laying out in chairs with their eyes closed and face masks on. I wanted to snap a photo but thought that might be creepy!
H&M Tent: This tent was right next to where I was working for the weekend and I didn’t notice it until Sunday! The pop up shop gives concert goers an opportunity to buy the “H&M Loves Coachella” line, and I couldn’t help myself 🙂 I picked up this cute little number I’m excited to wear. I envision wearing it by itself or over a tee to make it a little more fun and casual. You’ll see it on the blog soon!
And of course, the tent had tons of photo op opportunites like the ones below.
Will I go Back to Coachella Again?
If Beyonce is the headliner then yes. If she’s not the headliner, probably not! This is the second year I’ve gone and both times I’ve become sick afterward! Coachella is an exhilarating experience but I think it may be a little too much exhilaration for me!
All of you 2nd weekenders, have fun and be safe! And as always if you like what you read and you think others will to, don’t hesitate to comment and share using the social buttons below!
